UniSA STEM girls program provided students with the opportunity to see what it’s like to choose STEM pathways.
On the 19 September 2019, the STEM girls networking dinner was held in the Mawson Lakes Hotel during which time students had the chance to meet PHD students and academics in the STEM field.
Keynote speakers also gave students insights on the possible career pathways.
On the ‘industrial day’, students visited Codan Corporate in Mawson Lakes technology park. The corporate focus was on defense electronics and metal detection. Their customers are worldwide. Students also visited Adelaide Brighton Cement, where they had a chance to see how cement is produced and what a Chemical Engineer, Electrical Engineer and Process Engineer jobs involve. The girls also visited the UniSA Health Innovation Centre, where the latest cutting edge research is carried out.
