National Reconciliation Week commenced on Thursday 27 May and finished on Thursday 3 June. During the lead up, students were involved in an arts activity where their intervention group learnt about Reconciliation Week, and then designed and painted canvases. The canvases look fantastic and have been displayed around the school and will also be on display during our NAIDOC Week activities in Week 10 of this term.
We held a BBQ lunch on the Tuesday which was well received by both students and staff. We also had a performance from some of our music students at lunch on the Wednesday. We would like to congratulate the students and Mrs Howell for all their hard work and a performance the students should be proud of. It was great to see so many students and staff come in and support. Lastly, our week finished with Ms Botei and The Food and The Community class who worked hard on a fabulous lunch for staff. Thank you for such delicious food.
On behalf of the EJEHS Aboriginal Education Team, we would like to thank all the students and staff who have made the week of activities fun and enjoyable, as well as a great learning experience. We now look forward to NAIDOC Week in Week 10.
Thank you, Mr Croft.
