Edward John Eyre High School recognises that valuable learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. As well as our rich and varied health and physical education curriculum, we provide engaging and challenging opportunities for students to participate in a wide range of co-curricular sports, which cater for different student interests.

We nominate in both regional and statewide knockouts, providing students with multiple chances to participate in a range of sports, including:

  • Cricket
  • Basketball
  • Soccer
  • Netball
  • Australian Rules Football
  • Rugby
  • Volleyball

Successful teams are given the opportunity to represent the school through participation in carnivals and competitions around South Australia. Sports are open to all year 11 and 12 students; they are coached by specialist PE staff, who support the development of skills and techniques required for success.

We value the contribution co-curricular sports makes to the social, physical and emotional growth of our students. They are given the opportunity to play with and against other members of the school, which cannot be experienced in most community sport competitions. Through this, students gain many benefits, including teamwork and leadership skills, increased physical fitness and develop positive relationships with their peers.
