Last night the Cookery, Hospitality and Tourism (CHAT) students prepared and cooked a three course meal as a gesture of appreciation to local hospitality businesses, who have supported the students throughout the duration of the year with work placement and for some students, apprenticeships. Families of the students were also in attendance to see the exceptional skills the students have developed over the duration of the course.
Entrée was a seafood tasting plate with a kilpatrick oyster, panko prawn, grilled squid and kingfish sashimi with salad greens and aioli. To follow, main course consisted of lamb fillet with roasted pumpkin, cherry tomatoes, kale, brown lentils, yoghurt and a balsamic glaze. Finally, a deconstructed apple crumble with biscuit soil, lemon curd, fresh apple, chantilly cream, apple and berry jelly and vanilla bean ice-cream.
The students were commended by both local businesses and families in attendance, they should be extremely proud of their efforts.
